Captive, an animation company based in Lisbon, approached us to create the soundtrack to an animated feature to accompany Pocko’s exhibition of customised russian Matryoshka dolls beginning in Magma bookstores in London as part of the London Design Festival. Two of our composers worked collaboratively to produce the quirky treatment. The original brief was for a chic piece, with a slight feel of comedy and intrigue. The idea was for the work to play out like a little film with the soundtrack almost acting as dialogue and reacting to the animation. Oli Durant, Creative Director at Captive says: ‘We had quite a concise stylistic direction for the music, however it was one which we didn’t really think could be realised without full-blown live orchestration or weeks of work. Bleh. We were assigned a certain unique family to make Russian nesting dolls out of and animate them using an HDR image to light them. Tedious project. Utter frustration, but I finally got it done. Painting UV maps and textures and using bump maps, oh joy! (the animating was the most fun part)

This song is very emotional for me. I’m a relatively confident girl, but I’ve had many people take advantage of me, and this one guy was the last straw. In fact, today he did something awful to me that shows me just how horrible he is. A matryoshka is a nesting doll.

PLEASE READ!!!This is my first big stopmotion!I finally got the energy to make a stopmotion.I worked VERY hard on this.So don’t be mean!I used around 480 pictures to make it.It took a very long time to edit and find a good song.I used Audio Swap in this video.This stopmotion was REALLY fast at first(about 15 seconds!)I will come out with more videos.I am even thinking of making a contest,but I don’t think that anyone will enter.Well,I hope you enjoy!Please comment rate and Subscribe!
